Refined Product Demand in Canada to Decline
10 May 2017
Gasoline and middle distillate are the dominant petroleum products in Canada, comprising 61% of the market. Gasoline is the largest refined product consumed in Canada (35%). Middle distillate is more than half the volume of gasoline demand (26% of the market), and LPG makes up 13% of the market. Jet fuel and naphtha account for up to 4% of the product demand each. The demand for heavy fuel oil accounts for less than 3% of the market, and the demand for kerosene is negligible. Other products, which make up 15% of the market, include lubes, asphalt, coke, waxes, refinery fuel gas, and miscellaneous products.
