The 29th Annual Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference (MPGC 2022), originally scheduled for January 2022, will now be held on 16 and 17 May 2022 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This decision to postpone the conference was jointly taken by organiser Conference Connection and the hosts, Ministry of Oil, Bahrain, The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) and nogaholding, in view of current travel restrictions and physical distancing requirements.
The new dates will allow sufficient time for the situation to normalise, and for the MPGC community to travel and reconvene safely. Participants will retain the flexibility to attend either virtually or in-person in Bahrain, allowing the global MPGC community to participate in the event of unforeseen travel restrictions. The MPGC 2022 App and our virtual platform will support the delivery of presentations and live Q&As, connecting all our participants, whether they attend in-person or virtually.
The conference will convene under the theme “Diverse Perspectives: Transitioning Towards a Carbon Constrained World”, and will cover both the high and low notes of the global oil markets since the last edition of the annual series. Our speakers will address the conventional crude oil and refining markets, as well as the energy markets of tomorrow, the emergence of IECs from IOCs, pricing transformation and LNG markets in a carbon constrained world. Session line-ups comprise Ministerial Addresses, MPGC 2022 Crystal Ball, Keynote Addresses on Energy Markets of Today and Tomorrow, All-Stars Analysts, Hard Talk & Discussion on Middle East Trading & Pricing Transformation, Refining Landscape, LNG Trading Outlook, and Energy Transition.
Beyond the conference sessions, MPGC 2022 will also include hosted functions, hospitality suites and pre-event webinars for registered delegates. Further details will be announced next month.
MPGC 2022 enjoys the support and Patronage of H.E. Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Minister of Oil for the Kingdom of Bahrain, and strong support from our hosts, Ministry of Oil, Bahrain, Bapco and nogaholding.
The 29th annual event has also received outstanding support and sponsorship from leading oil market brands, including our platinum sponsors Chevron and S&P Global Platts, our corporate sponsors ICE, Kpler, Samsung Engineering, Shell, Technip Energies, Tecnicas Reunidas, and Uniper, and our function hosts Bapco, Saudi Aramco and Vitol. More than 450 global brands have supported MPGC in its 29-year history. The 2022 event is also supported by the Bahrain-based Gulf Downstream Association and Middle East Gases Association (MEGA).
“The pandemic has disrupted the annual timing for MPGC, but what has not changed is our commitment to support the global MPGC community with the twin pillars of knowledge sharing and networking. The support of leading industry stakeholders, speakers and sponsors has been nothing short of excellent. MPGC 2022 whether in virtual or in-person environments remains the region’s longest annual oil and gas industry gathering, and is set to once again deliver a high-level and power packed programme. We look forward to welcoming our participants in Bahrain,” said a spokesperson from organiser Conference Connection.
