The Beginning: Located in the heart of Muscat, Muscat University is a modern, international university founded with a vision to transform individuals through quality education that is research-informed and industry-engaged. Steered by large group of leaders in Oman’s public and private sectors, Muscat University commenced operation in 2017 with strong emphasis on graduate degree programmes. The University established with the assistance of Oxford University Innovation Group with a view to becoming a beacon of higher education in the region. Muscat University is set to achieve this by delivering cutting edge academic programmes taught by leading academics, through building links with, local, regional, and international business leaders and fully engaging with research communities.

Muscat University is unique in that it is the only university in Oman with a full placement year as part of the undergraduate curriculum. Our academic programmes are designed with the needs of 21st-century employers in mind and are delivered via three faculties: Business and Management, Engineering and Technology, and Transport and Logistics, along with the quality assured Foundation Programme.
