Renewable feedstock processing in hydrotreater plants demands materials with high corrosion resistance. Pre-treatment units also require materials with high corrosion resistance. Nickel base alloys like Alloy 625 and C-276 have been standard. Alleima’s new alloy, Sanicro 35, offers a cost-effective alternative. Alcohol to Jet and Fischer Tropsch pathways present material challenges, with ongoing discussions and testing. Power to Liquid is in the pilot project stage and is expected to gain traction.
