In-Person Course Delivery
To ensure an effective learning environment, UOP will ensure that the training is delivered in concise sessions to prevent learner fatigue. Each session will consist of short lecture-based delivery of training content, interspersed with ample time for discussion and question and answer time with the instructors.
Training material will be provided as pre-reading by participants with the opportunity to discuss any topics or issues raised in the reading material at the beginning of the relevant topic session.
Each session will provide ample opportunity for participants to share their experience, raise operational issues for discussion and ask questions directly to the instructors.
UOP PolybedTM Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) System
Course Overview
This course provides the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to efficiently and safely operate the UOP Polybed PSA system. Emphasis is placed on standard operating procedures, process controls, troubleshooting, and plant safety.

UOP MeroxTM Process
Course Overview
This course provides the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to efficiently and safely operate UOP Merox units. Led by experienced UOP process specialists, the course covers process flow and equipment, unit operation, analytical procedures, maintenance procedures, and safety. To ensure the practical application of knowledge, discussion includes normal operations, startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting. Classroom lectures can be combined with field practical testing at the unit to allow the participants “see and practice” what was learned in the classroom. Following the unit visit, participants will have a question-and-answer session and discuss any operating problems and solutions to improve the overall operation of the Merox unit.

Prerequisite
The Merox course has a Web-Based Training (WBT) pre-requisite that will need to be completed by the registrants prior to the commencement of the course. The basic concepts presented online will be briefly reviewed during the classroom session. With this foundation successfully established, instructors can focus the face-to-face training on more advanced topics, including procedures, troubleshooting, and field exercises.

Fired Heaters
Course Overview
This course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to improve the operation, profitability, and safety of a plant’s fired heaters. Classroom lectures cover furnace design, process considerations, and field evaluation of fired heaters. Topics such as troubleshooting common heater problems, burner operation, inspection and turnaround items, emissions, instrumentation, and preparation of new heater specifications are also covered. Tools used to achieve high reliability are reviewed. This is an interactive workshop where students are encouraged to discuss problems they’ve encountered on the job.
