Mohammed G. Al-Mutairi

CHAIRMAN

Mr. Mohammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi, A Chemical Engineer from Kuwait University, joined KNPC in 1987 and has over 29 years of experience in Kuwait Downstream Refining Industry in areas of Leadership, Operational Excellence, Technologies and Management.

His vast experience includes working in Senior Management as Deputy Managing Director of both Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah Refineries.
Mr. Al-Mutairi as CEO-KNPC, is responsible for managing the Kuwaiti Downstream Sector’s Domestic Refining and Gas Processing business.

He has vast experience in Operations Department and has worked Deputy CEO of MAB & MAA & before that as Manager Operations for both Shuaiba and Mina Al-Ahmadi Refineries.

Mr. Al-Mutairi is currently member of KNPC and KIPIC (Kuwait integrated Petroleum Industries Company) Board of Directors. Previously, he has been the Chairman of KPC holding company Aruba (KPI-Kuwait Petroleum International) and member of KOC’s (Kuwait Oil Company) and PIC’s (Petrochemical Industries Company) Board of Directors.

Mr. Mutairi is a strong believer in innovations and several innovative steps were carried out during his tenure for the improvement of profitability in refinery management.

During his career he has played important Leadership role in leading the Company to implement mega projects viz. CFP (Clean Fuels Project), ZOR (Al-Zour Refinery) and LNGI (LNG Import). He has also implemented many innovative profit improvement ideas to enhance performance and systems to improve overall HSE Management in KNPC.

Suleman A. Al-Bargan

Vice Chairman

Suleman A. Al-Bargan is currently the Executive Director of Domestic Refining and NGL Fractionation in Saudi Aramco. He manages the domestic refining portfolio with a processing capacity of more than 2.5 million barrels per day. This includes 4 wholly owned refineries and 4 Joint Ventures. In addition to refining, Al-Bargan manages 1.9 million barrels per day of the kingdom’s NGL Fractionation capacity and 550 thousand barrels per day of Base Oil.

He is a seasoned leader with 35 years of experience in both Upstream and Downstream. Before his latest assignment as an Executive Director of Domestic Refining and NGL Fractionation, Al-Bargan was assigned several critical roles throughout his career in Saudi Aramco such as CEO of SAMREF (Saudi Aramco & Exxon Mobil JV in Yanbu), General Manager of Jazan Refining Complex, Manager of Oil Supply Planning and Scheduling Department, Director of Personnel and Manager of Uthmaniyah, Hawiyah and Berri Gas Plants.

Suleman Al-Bargan has a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri Columbia and an MBA through the MIT Sloan Fellows Program.

Ebrahim A. Talib

Financial Secretary

Ebrahim Talib is the Deputy Chief Executive for Bapco, the national oil Company of Bahrain.

Ebrahim is a Chemical Engineer who, over a span of his 30-year career, has had the privilege of working in The Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) in a number of positions that span from process engineering, operations, projects, refining operations, oil storage and export, power & utilities, process improvement, maintenance and marketing initiatives. His current responsibilities include the whole supply chain from the receipt of oil and gas, refining, storage and marketing, maintenance and engineering support functions, major initiatives and projects that continue to energise the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Bahrain Refinery in a world class league.

He is also the Chairman of Bapco Environment, Health and Safety Committee and a member of the Executive Strategic Planning Council. Ebrahim is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Lube Base Oil Company and Gulf Downstream Association. He believes passionately in the old adage that “it is only people and not hardware that make or break companies”.

NABIL M. BOURISLI

Board member

Dr. Nabil Bourisli brings more than 33 years of experience in the Kuwaiti oil sector. A graduate of Kuwait University with a degree in chemical engineering, Nabils impressive career has taken him through four different oil companies.

He began as a process engineer in KNPC and then moved to our shareholder, KPC, where he headed the corporate planning function for many years, becoming manager and Deputy Managing Director. Nabil was later appointed Chairman and CEO of Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), which he headed successfully for five years, until he returned to KPC to hold the positions of Managing Director for Administration and R&D, and Managing Director for International Marketing consecutively.

On 7 January 2018, Nabil was appointed President and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum International. He is a frequent speaker in regional conferences and a member of several Boards.

 

Jasem Ali Al Sayegh

Member

On January 1st 2012, Mr. Jasem Al Sayegh was appointed as ADNOC Refining Chief Executive Officer. He has brought a portfolio of oil refining experience to lead and manage ADNOC Refining and strategically diversify its operations. His other key strengths are business build, performance improvement and insight in statutory requirement.
 
In the last 3 years, he has also contributed at senior level to local down stream oil industry, in his capacity as member of Board of Directors to Borouge.
 
He joined ADNOC Refining General Management Team in 2003 after successfully managing the Ruwais refinery operation and its expansion for 4 years.
 
He joined ADNOC in 1986 after graduating from University of Washington as Chemical Engineer.
 
He rapidly progressed through the ranks of ADNOC sharing various responsibilities in Process Engineering, Operations, Projects, and HSE functions. He worked on strategic expansion projects and gained valuable experience of technology and people management.
 
Mr. Jasem has attended numerous international and local conferences and seminars, and presented papers on refining operations and ADNOC Refining contribution to the industry.
